Took Apogee and PPLC courses back in those days.ĭon't have direct Desigo programming/configuration material. Are you also involved with programming at the controller level? Attached is single-page Apogee System 600 & PPLC 600 material. Not sure if you'll use PPLC 'line code' or the newer 'block & line' version (not sure what Siemens calls that product). Yes, the attached material is a bit old, but its a start. The PPLC 600 programming sheet has '1', '2' ,'3', '4' steps to guide you through the process. No, Desigo does not work within the APOGEE system. It's the other way around.sort of, which is the bulk of (Siemens US's) issues with Desigo. Siemens did not "shift the workstation from Insight to Desigo". Insight and Desigo have absolutely nothing in common. Siemens ended Insight and replaced it with Desigo, which is Siemens' workstation for Europe or RoW.ĭesigo has existed for a long time outside of the US and is vastly different than Insight. Siemens terminated Insight and everything APOGEE related, and aggressively replaced it with the Desigo equivalent. This is why APOGEE compatibility is so poor in Desigo it was a complete afterthought, jammed in later on to satisfy the US market. Desigo uses "DMAP" - Desigo Modular Application Programming, which is a sort of "function" block type of language. Not so easy to get a 'history' picture of Apogee & Desigo. I've read Siemens literature which said "Desigo is a workstation upgrade from Insight". They actually called it 'Desigo CC' - could not find out what the 'CC' means.
